Today we had our last screening and started the 3200 mile journey back to San Diego. From New York City all the way to Southern California all within a matter of days. Ten weeks ago I was setting up my first screening, unsure of what these next few months would mean for me. Let me tell you, they have meant everything.

The dimensions of how I have changed I'm not sure I will realize until I am back home but I do know that I am not the same. Stay tuned, my mind and my heart are still trying to process the transition.

I'm laying on the floor of the van wrapped in a sleeping bag, Ally is laying on the bench above me and Gabby is sprawled on the bench in front. Erin and Rosa are in the front listening to "Big Girls Don't Cry" and we are all trying to comprehend what the end of the road really means for us. We will get into Illinois tomorrow at 7 am if we are able to make it through the tornadoes heading towards Kansas. After a pit stop to sleep for a few hours we will head to Colorado putting us in San Diego by Wednesday. Waiting for me in San Diego are 100 or so roadies, staff and interns all with their own stories.

Something I have discovered on the road: stories are the most beautiful accessory you can have. The world can try to strip you of everything but they can not take away your stories. And I have plenty of them.

This has undoubtedly been the most incredible, heartbreaking, uplifting, hard, challenging, empowering, best, craziest adventure of my life. My lack of creative adjectives should suggest that I can no longer construct large words for my mind and my body have reached the point of massive exhaustion. And I couldn't be happier because I left it all here, on the road.
